Tackling Primary School Bullies
If you're concerned your child may be being
victimised, your initial suspicions may well be right. Unless you want to change schools, with all the extra problems that can bring, you'll have to deal with the bullies at this one. Dealing
with the bullies Non-aggressive
self-defence Humour can also be effective. Discuss with him ways of deflecting teasing by 'over stating' the case. If he's teased for having freckles, tell him to say 'Yes I've got freckles, I've got lots and lots of freckles I've probably got more freckles than anybody else in the world. I've got millions and trillions of freckles!' This tactic usually leaves the bully speechless. If the bullies are bigger than him, teach your son to walk away. If the bullies gather in one place, he should avoid it. If he has to go there, he should go with friends.
