4-9 Yrs: Child Development

Primary-school age childAs your child begins his schooling years, his rate of development varies from sudden spurts to long periods of minimal growth.

Every child will have its own pace of growth; don't be alarmed if his progress is slower than others of his age, and don't apply to Mensa if he appears to be developing rapidly! If there are doubts, consult your doctor. In general though, this age will bring a sense of self-identity and independence.
