Development 10-12 Mths: First Words

Did you know... by 10 months old, babies can tell the difference between their own regional accent and 'foreign' ones? Your baby's language skills are coming on in leaps and bounds!

Some babies prefer to come up with their own words. When this happens don't say 'no', just use the proper word instead.

I say, I say, I say... !
She understands a lot more than she can say and can follow simple instructions. She responds to your phrases with a babble of gibberish, spoken like a sentence. This is all part of learning to talk. Answer her with simple emphatic sentences to keep the conversation going.
